One of the many fun and interesting things we get to do here at MyBinding is take a behind-the-scenes look at our vendors. Recently, Max Pupino from Formax visited our office. Max, a native Italian who migrated here in the 90s, has 20 years experience in sales and service. He was kind enough to sit down with a few of our marketing specialists to talk about the history of Formax as well as go over a few machines, including the all-new ColorMax.

Formax started in the 1980s as a direct sales company featuring paper processing products. These machines were constructed with all metal, making them heavier and longer lasting than others on the market. The company grew and today they are an international manufacturer. This week, two of our marketing professionals are basking in the warmth of the Palm Desert. No, they’re not on vacation. And “basking” is probably the wrong word. “Sitting inside a poorly lit, stale, and crowded meeting room at a national eCommerce conference” is probably a more accurate description.

Our Vice President of Marketing Jeff McRitchie and UX Designer Chris Vander Meulen are participating in the annual eTail West conference. This year the conference is hosted at the JW Marriott Desert Springs in Palm Desert, California. So while McRitchie and Vander Meulen aren’t exactly lounging by the pool all day, they are learning, networking, and even teaching a little.

In the coming weeks we have a packed schedule of posts announcing new products, starting with this high end automatic paper cutter, the MBM Triumph 4860ET. If you’re in a business that uses a heavy duty cutter, it’s likely that you already know about MBM’s solid construction and Solingen steel blades. Both of these features are integrated into the Triumph 4860 along with a host of others. The Safety Cutting System (SCS) is an efficient mechanism designed to ensure operator safety. It includes a light beam safety shield on the front of the workspace and a transparent, electronically controlled safety cover on the rear of the unit.
