Coil binding is a great way to make your documents stand out. This binding method is also fairly easy, as long as you have the right supplies and equipment. SlanTIS coil binding sleeves can be a big help, especially when you need to bind thicker documents. These sleeves are made out of plastic and help keep the pages of your document flush to make it easier to insert the coil. To use one of these sleeves, just follow these steps:
- Select the appropriate sleeve for your document. Sleeves can handle documents that are 1/4” to 2” thick. The sleeve should be large enough to accommodate your document but not so large that the pages fall out.
- Place your document in the sleeve. The edge with the holes punched in it needs to be sticking out of the sleeve. You will notice that the pages form a convex curve. This makes coil insertion easier.
- Insert the coil either manually or with a coil inserter. Don’t forget to crimp the ends of the coil to finish the job.
