Have you ever wished you had a laminator that you could just load with film and paper, press a button, and have it do all the work for you? If so, you’ll want to check out Fujipla’s ALM 3220 Al-Meister Laminator. This is a device that’s fully automated and works quickly so you can have professional-looking documents in a flash – while you’re off doing other things. Let’s take a look at this machine’s strengths and ponder its weaknesses as well.

Strengths:

  • Although the ALM 3220 looks like it would be difficult to use, it really isn’t. In fact, it’s as easy to use as a photocopier.
  • This laminator is very fast and will be able to process your documents in a matter of seconds. It operates at speeds of 20 to 48 inches per minute. It only takes 3 minutes to process 10 sheets of letter-sized paper, which is really impressive. When your documents have been processed, the machine will let you know via an audio signal.
  • The ALM 3220′s paper feed tray can hold up to 200 sheets of paper. You’ll be able to stack your documents in the tray and then walk away as the machine does its work. The tray has a paper guide so you’ll be able to stack your sheets in just the right place for great results. When the machine is done laminating, it will then re-stack your sheets.
  • This device has a built-in trimmer so you won’t need to worry about trimming the excess laminate from your documents. You can choose to trim your documents so they either have a margin or not. After trimming, the excess film goes directly into a waste compartment that you can empty when the time comes.
  • The ALM 3320 only takes 5 minutes to warm up so you’ll be able to use it in no time. When not in use, the machine will go into standby mode until you need to use it again. When that happens, it only requires 1 minute to warm right back up.
  • This device is equipped with an automatic shut-off feature that will help you save electricity while also preserving the integrity of the motor. The machine will also cease operation when it runs out of film or the feed tray is empty.
  • Loading a new roll of film is easy because this laminator uses special film. This film has a strip at the beginning of the roll that makes it a snap to thread the material into the machine.
  • The ALM 3220 is backed by a one-year warranty.

Weaknesses:

  • The ALM 3220 laminates at temperatures ranging from 170 to 240 degrees Fahrenheit. This means there is no cold setting, so you won’t be able to laminate thermally sensitive documents with this device.
  • You can only use film that’s 1.5 to 5 mil thick with this machine. Therefore, it’s not a good device to use if your document requires thicker film.
  • This isn’t the laminator to use if you work with a lot of wide-format items. It can only work with documents up to 12.6” wide.
  • Naturally, this device is pretty large, about the size of a small photocopier. So this isn’t really the machine to get if you’re looking for a desktop laminator.

Although the Fujipla ALM 3220 has a couple of weaknesses – the lack of a cold setting chief among them – if you want a fast laminator, you couldn’t do much better. So take a look at the ALM 3220 today so you can see just how fast it is.
